1. JOB SUMMARY:(automotive specialist/Engineer) 1.1. The Automotive Specialist/Engineer is responsible for the design, development, validation, and production support of automotive wire harness systems. This role ensures that all harnesses meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements. 1.2. The position requires close collaboration with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective wiring solutions with strong project management skills. 2. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 2.1 Design & Development - Interpret customer specifications and vehicle electrical architecture to design wire harness systems. - Develop 2D/3D harness layouts using CAD tools (e.g., Solid Work, CATIA, Zuken E3, AutoCAD). - Select appropriate wires, connectors, terminals, and protective components based on application and environment. 2.2 Engineering Documentation - Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, schematics, and routing diagrams. - Prepare DFMEA, DVP&R, and other technical documentation for product validation. 2.3 Project & Customer Interface - Act as the technical liaison with OEMs and Tier 1 customers for wire harness projects. - Support new product launches, engineering changes, and design reviews. - Ensure timely delivery of prototypes and production-ready harnesses. 2.4 Manufacturing Support - Collaborate with production and process engineering to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency. - Support the development of assembly instructions, tooling, and quality control plans. Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions. 2.5 Quality & Compliance - Ensure compliance with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, RoHS, etc.). - Participate in audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. 3. OTHER TASKS: - Perform tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager. 4. WORK PROCEDURES: Follow company rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations. 5. WORK RELATIONSHIPS: 5.1 Internal: - Production Department: For product manufacturing. - QA/QC Department: For product quality, defects, and material standards. - Buyer & Material Costing developing: For materials and equipment. - Other departments: As needed. 5.2 External: - Suppliers (for construction, tools, materials, etc.) - Customers: In special cases. 6. DECISION-MAKING: Make decisions related to product standards in group discussions. 7. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES: 7.1 Responsibilities: - Comply with company policies and regulations. - Uphold company image and branding. - Coordinate with other departments to achieve departmental and company goals. - Promote cost-saving awareness. 7.2 Authority: Request necessary equipment or support to perform work effectively. 8. CONSEQUENCES OF ERRORS: Incorrect judgment in the production process can cause damage to the company. 9. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 9.1 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering. 9.2 At least 3+ years of experience in wire harness design or manufacturing in the automotive industry. 9.3 Proficiency in CAD tools or harness design software. 9.4 Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, connectors, and standards. 9.5 Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and other automotive quality tools. Preferred Skills: ? Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers. ? Knowledge of CAN/LIN communication protocols. ? Hands-on experience with vehicle integration and testing. ? Strong communication and project management skills. ? PMP certification is an advantage. 10.
